The source of hope and healing for child sexual and physical abuse by putting children first.
St. Clair County Child Advocacy Center
We are a team of specially trained interviewers, case managers and counselors ready to provide your child and your family complete support throughout the healing process.
The Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides a safe, child-friendly environment for conducting forensic interviews and medical evaluation. We assist with investigations of sexual and serious physical abuse of children, as well as with interviews of children who have witnessed violent crimes.
Meet Homer
In August 2016, Homer first came to our CAC as our facility dog through Support Dogs Inc. We've been blessed to have Homer around to accompany children in their interviews and sometimes, even their court proceedings. Families that have been to the CAC love Homer for his gentle, compassionate presence. Wherever Homer goes, he turns down the tension and turns up the smiles!
Homer's father had the idea to make Homer Dog stuffed toys, and they have been a runaway hit with the children visiting the CAC ever since! Homer has quickly become an integral part of the CAC. His presence makes the CAC an even cozier, more supportive environment.
Homer is proud to be supporting the children and families of St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties in Illinois as part of the St. Clair County Child Advocacy Center team.
“There is comfort in knowing that you don’t have to pretend anymore, that you are going to do everything within your power to heal.”
